The Norquay Beethoven Choir

On Monday, March 5, 2001, sixty grades six and seven students from Norquay School  performed
part of the last movement of Beethoven's Ninth Symphony
at the Orpheum Theatre with the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra
conducted by Maestro Bramwell Tovey.

On Wednesday, February 21, they rehearsed with the Osler Beethoven Choir at Norquay
under the direction of Tania Miller, assistant conductor of the VSO.

On Monday, January 26 they rehearsed with Richmond and Surrey choirs in the Orpheum
Finally, on Monday, March 5, they performed two concerts with the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra,
at 10:00 a.m. and  at 12:00 noon, each time for about 2800 students and teachers from all around the Lower Mainland.

And we were terrific!

Our most grateful thanks to Maestro Tovey, Maestra Miller, Educational Manager, Leanne Davis,
and all the members of the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra for an unforgettable musical experience!
