On December 12, 2002 the Peer Educators of John Norquay School went to the Collingwood Neighborhood House to learn about abuse, drugs, bullying and sexual exploitation. These topics are serious issues we have in the world. We talked about these issues so we could learn about how they harm us, and how we can try to prevent these things from happening to people. We also discussed how we could get help if any of these things ever happens to us, and how we can help others. Throughout the day, we did fun activities that helped us learn about abuse, drugs, bullying and sexual exploitation. We watched a group called TCO2 preform short little skits about these topics especially sexual exploitation and how to deal with it. A group of facilitators called CRAVE also performed short little skits teaching us how to deal with bullying. It was a day of learning about how to prevent these things from happening to any of us and to others. It was a fun and exciting day of learning! Stefanie Seto |
