Whoosh went the dancers from the Ballet British Columbia. There were wide opened eyes all around the gym at John Norquay School. It was 10:30 Friday, February 25th, and the ballet dancers didn't waste a second of the day. They were excited and determined to share their side of the world, to both teach and inspire every single soul. It was also their goal to perform at their best. They had been practicing for a long time in their careers and they weren't going to mess it all up, now!

All students had their eyes feasted on the Nutcracker excerpt as bodies shifted around and toes filled the air. The performers were fabulous in their detailed and unique costumes. Their toes, legs, arms, and everything moved so delicately as if there were a spell that made it all perfect. The music really set the tone and all was swell.

It was definitely a spectacular performance that stood out. No mistakes were made and both the music and the costumes set the true feeling. Though, it would've helped a lot with a background prop. The rest, ah, just fantastic!!

Although a background setting would've made it better, you've got to catch a performance by the Ballet British Columbia!! It is a certain recommendation!!

It was a special day for everyone at Norquay Elementary School. Right after recess (10:30), the students and teachers would be going down to the gym to watch a spectacular ballet performance. The dancers of Ballet British Columbia were to share their ballet experience and teach students to appreciate ballet. An educational performance awaited everybody that day.

"Look at those penguins go..." the audience thought. The performers were putting on a humorous dance called "Penguins." There were three male dancers out there,"goofin' off." It's funny how the phrase "goofin'off" could describe such an amazing dance... even one with imitations of penguins. It certainly was a favourite! The perfect act to spice up the show. Of course, the penguin performance was just one of a great variety of dances... old (as in classical) and new (ones you've never seen before)!

That performance was truly beautiful. Those dancers were elegant, and light-footed. Or, at least, that's what it seemed like. People might think ballet is easy. Just some jumps here, and some tippy toes there... but is it really as easy as it looks? After all, only a handful of people do ballet. So maybe, just maybe, it's better to sit back, relax, and enjoy the show!

Today, Friday, February 25, a t 10:30, dancers from Ballet British Columbia came to teach students about ballet. The educational performance took place in the gym at Norquay Elementary School so the students could learn more about it and respect it more. There were at least seven dancers and a man who talked a lot. The other seven were away.

One of the best parts was when they performed a funny dance they called,"The Penguins". They looked hilarious with their stiff necks and crooked arms, falling all over the place. One actor pretended to fall on another actor. That actor pushed him back. The actor who fell, fell again. So the other actor pushed him back again.

I didn't mind it much. The dancers were good, but the man who talked seemed to have talked a lot and done nothing. But seeing Mr. Smith do ballet and then seeing the camera propped up against the stage cheered my spirits. I couldn't help but chuckle. Maybe you should try?
