Peer Helpers 2004 - 2005

"We help make our school a better and safer place."

Cynthia Mah

I have been a Peer Helper for at least two years. It has been a fun experience. I get to help younger children solve their problems and comfort them when they're feeling sad. You get to have parties on special occasions, for example, Christmas. I help people because I want to make our school a better and safer place.

My first time going on 'Peer Helper' was scary. I did stuff in a rush and made many mistakes. Finally I got used to it. It was fun. These people - Mr. Lam, Mrs. Magee, Mr. Nomm and Mrs. Maldonado - gave their times to do this program to make Norquay a better school.

Being a Peer Helper is fun because I get to help kids. I get to hand out games and push people on the swings.

My job as a Peer Helper is fun. One day there was a little boy who was too shy to ask for a game. But on his face it looked like he wanted it so I let him choose a game. He didn't know how to play so I taught him.

Vanessa Lowe:  I was pushing a kid on the swings. When the kid was swinging toward me, I wasn't paying attention. So the swing and the kid came flying at my head and I nearly fell down.
