Happy Birthday to our Canadian flag.

The Canadian flag was 41 years old on February 15. Ryan Chand and Ms. Car attended a lunch at the Four Season’s Hotel to celebrate the flag’s birthday.

Ryan reported that “First they sang ‘O Canada’ as usual. Then there were guest speakers. Joy Kogawa spoke. She is the writer of “Naomi’s Road”, the story that was made into an opera. Then came the luncheon and the food was absolutely spectacular. To end the day the Vancouver Bach Children’s Choir sang “This is my Home”. I bet Mr. Colpitts would love to have heard them sing.”

At school we celebrated by wearing red and white and making a big Canadian flag on the schoolgrounds. Happy Birthday Canadian flag!
