Mozart was born on January 27, 1756. January 27, 2006 is his 250th birthday. There are celebrations and special concerts being performed all over the world this year, but especially on this day, January 27. The Norquay 6/7 Choir (conducted by Mr. D. Colpitts) and the Jamieson Grade Seven Advanced String Orchestra (conducted by Mr. J. Colpitts) celebrated by taking part in the Mozart Birthday Bash, a twelve hour concert at Lord Byng Secondary School. The students rehearsed for months before finally meeting together on Tuesday, January 24, in the Norquay Gym for our first combined rehearsal. Then on Friday, we met again at Byng before performing at 1:00. It was a wonderful experience for all! |
